Sometime around the early 1930′s, a myth about the aerodynamics of bumble bees became popular. Many people argue about the origin of this myth, but as the story goes, they were scientifically proven incapable of flight by so called experts in the fields of physics and aerodynamics. Have you heard of this myth before? Many people have. In fact, it has become so popular that it has been ingrained in common culture as scientific fact in spite of continued research that has dis-proven previous theories.
So what am I getting at? In spite of what the “experts” may have said, the bumble bee continued to fly. It didn't throw itself off a bridge or get counseling because someone said what it had always done could not be done. It just methodically continued its work assigned by God to pollinate the earth. There were no suicide notes left in the hive or bee sized bottles of anti-anxiety medication. It never questioned it’s accusers or even paid them any mind. Why not? Because what someone else said about it really didn’t matter.
Maybe there is someone on your job, in your family, or even at your church that has some really unkind things to say about you. Maybe they say you are undereducated for your position. Or it could be that you don’t exactly fit in because of office politics. Maybe you are the outcast because you are the wrong color, gender, nationality, or because you are a Christian. If God gave you the assignment, job, or ability, does it really matter what other people say about you? The Book of Romans puts it this way;
28″And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:28-31 NIV
Remember the bumble bee!!!
The Book of Isaiah also has something to say about your false accusers;
17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17 NIV
Remember the bumble bee!!!
There are people in our world that try to act as character assassins. Young people now-a-days call them haters. I try to think of my haters as my own personal fan club
. Regardless of how you may see them, no one can really destroy your character. They may harm your reputation, but never your character. Whats the difference? Your reputation is who and what other people think you are. Your character is who and what you really are. The word “character” is defined as the combination of qualities or features that distinguish one person, group, or thing from another. Don’t misunderstand me. A good reputation is great to have, but it is far better to be of sound character. Why? Because the only person that can ever affect your character is you.

Remember the bumble bee!!!
Maybe you are like the bumble bee and there is a lot of talk against you. Maybe they say you are black with yellow stripes or yellow with black stripes. Does it really matter? Remember the bumble bee! Maybe they say you’ll never finish school or ever amount to anything in life. Even though what they say may really hurt your feelings sometimes, does there negative commentary really matter? Remember the bumble bee! Maybe they say you are too fat to fly and have the spare hands, degrees, and scratch paper to scientifically prove it. Don’t allow the haters in your life to destroy your dreams. Remember the bumble bee!
While the world continues to hate on you because of your success, joy, peace, and blessings, methodically continue to perform the assignments given to you by God. Because it is He who has the final say. Be Blessed, My Friends. Be an Overcomer!
